Lonely Breaths

The fishermen are adrift,

The beast is free,

Unchecked and untamed,

Throwing sailors in the sea.

Helpless to fight against it,

No thought is our own.

A wreck with no survivors,

Breaks away on the stones.

I’m sand thrown against a beach,

The waves move against me;

Peeling skin and dusty eyes,

And all I aspired to be.
