  Engine still resisting repairs. Appreciating the irony of a broken core surrounded by a functioning craft.

Log 60

 When I was younger I was frequently described as defiant and untameable. Problems would tremble when they heard my name. Issues would hide under rocks. My reputation always preceded me, and all worries promptly and respectfully moved aside.

  Now that I’m … not quite so successful, that I have met the very … impassive, uncaring, fallen face of failure … Well now I see my error. I miss being a child. I miss holding hands with ignorance and having tea parties with naivety. I never noticed uncertainty, boiling in prescience, laughing at me from the corner.

 I will keep pushing through this … this possibility of all these attempts to return to my innocence being in … utter futility. Doubt likes this place though, and how rudely it barges in. It scurries away as quickly as it came, leaving me confused, spun around, weightless, uprooted, and insubstantial. It repeats its back and forth just out of my reach; I cannot catch it to banish it for good.

  But I am becoming distracted by myself! There are more pressing matters at hand. For the sake of perseverance, I will ignore doubt gnawing at my skull, even if, at the eventual moment of my getaway, my brain is pierced through with holes.

  I will escape from here eventually, even if I am half a century behind everyone else, I will get there.

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will fucking get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there

 // I will get there
